Kangaroo Skin Extra Large

The Kangaroo is an iconic native Australian animal making the Kangaroo skin a very popular Australian gift or souvenir.

There are two species of kangaroos, the Eastern Grey Kangaroo (Macropus Giganteus) and the Red Kangaroo (Macropus Rufus) each characterised, among other traits, by the colour of their fur.

Kangaroos are culled in Australia under government regulation which is upheld by the Australian National Parks and Wildlife Service. All shooters, dealers and tanners require licences. These licences ensure the Kangaroo numbers in the wild are maintained and controlled.

Kangaroos shed their coats during the summer months. Those that are used for fur are culled in the winter months when their coats are thick and long.

Traditional uses for Kangaroo skins include- floor rugs, wall hangings or as a feature piecedraped over furniture.

The colour and size of the skin does vary.
